As you all know I am a big proponent of using Instagram for inspiration. If you go to Instagram.com and you have an account, you can find the Casements Camera Club here: @casementscameraclub.
If you want to post something on Instagram and you don’t have an account, you send an email to: casementscameraclub@gmail.com and Donna Armstrong will post your picture(s).
There are numerous members who do have an Instagram account and I follow them all. I also follow my Dutch friends @fc_dekunstvan and two English friends of them. Of course, I follow Christina Katsolis of the Southeast Museum of Photography @christina_katsolis.
All in all, I follow 211 photographers (and that’s not many at all).
Then there are the photographers who inspire me:
For still life – @carlodenino (photographer from Rome, Italy) and @cherylbelczak
For macro – @mikemoatsphotography and @macrodaan (photographer from the Netherlands)
For food – @thebiteshot (photographer Joanie Simon) and @foodshot_wesley_dombrecht (photographer from Belgium)
About Iceland – @thor_photography and @hOrdur (photographer Hordur Kristleifsson)
About water – @wildseascapes (photographer Mark Dobson) and @benthouard (from French Polynesia)
For night photography – @alynwallace
For light painting – @ericparephoto
And for creative ideas – @jordi.koalitic
I get a lot of inspiration at the following: @stevenbensonphotographer, @gshaver, @glyndewis, @ianplantphoto, @macstonephoto, @nigel.danson, @eva.polak, @ems_photo_adventures (photographer Essdras M. Suarez) and @artwolfe.
That’s the beauty of Instagram – the whole world is present, and you can pick and choose who you follow and what kind of inspiration you are looking for. You can choose portraiture, I follow someone who does photography with mini people, and more often than not I get my ideas from something I see on Instagram.
I must say that I don’t look at reels, because I want only still photography ideas.
The photography doctor orders a dose of Instagram a day… you’ll be inspired as well!
Till next time,
Ans
