Nothing new on the camera club front… We’re still in a pandemic and we still can’t meet. What to do then?

Well just look at the images in our “Stuck at Home” challenge section! We are trying to get outside of our comfort zone and try new things.

What I have been doing is webinars, webinars, a masterclass and more webinars. And I want to give a huge shoutout to all professional photographers who donate their time and effort for the enjoyment of others.

My favorite in this respect is British photographer Mike Browne, who has a section on his website called “lockdown”. For the past 11 weeks he had a competition on Facebook with different themes for each week. Then he (or one of his photography friends) critiqued (gave feedback) on certain images. So much insight! And so easy to follow. Unfortunately this Sunday is his last session, but he is going to continue one way or another. And if you want to see what he has done, go to his web site (https://www.photographycourses.biz/photography-locked-down) and check it out for yourself. One of his fellow judges was Tom Mackie, a wonderful nature photographer and his web site is certainly worth wile (https://www.tommackie.com/

Another British photographer I admire is Gavin Hoey, who has free tutorials on his website (https://www.gavtrain.com/

I attended webinars from Meg Loeks (http://www.megloeks.com ), Canadian Don Komarechka (https://www.donkom.ca/), Australian Brent Mail (https://brentmailphotography.com/), a masterclass from Danish photographer Thorsten von Overgaard (https://www.overgaard.com/), and two more from Lisa Langell (https://www.langellphotography.com/).

And then I am fortunate enough to also understand Dutch, which brings me to two wonderful Dutch nature photographers: Albert Dros (https://www.albertdros.com/) and Johan van der Wielen (https://www.johanvanderwielen.nl/). Both web site are in the English language and if you want to see the Spring Garden De Keukenhof without people, see what Albert Dros made of it: his images are spectacular.

Florida is in phase 2 of reopening and maybe we can go out and take pictures again (if we keep the group small). I certainly hope so, I miss all the members of the Camera Club and hope that we can meet again in the near future.

Everybody stay safe and healthy,

till the next time,

Ans
