They say it takes a village to raise a child, but I can tell you that it takes a city to run a club…
At the end of this year I want to thank my fellow board members: Donna Armstrong (now vice-president), Sylvia Rohmer, Richard Rosenthal and our newest board member Will Abair.
Hospitality Chair Jeanne Figurelli, Publicity Chair Michele Oliver, challenge coordinator Judy Speno, web site administrator Kathleen Pruett, our CPA Bob Schroeder and our new newsletter editor Neala McCarten, who did an excellent job with her first newsletter (see the newsletter heading in this menu). Donna Armstrong also takes care of our Instagram page and YouTube channel. Nancy Munier is our print coordinator for F3C and Kathleen and David Pruett make the videos of our exhibitions. Bill Speno and Richard Rosenthal help hang those exhibitions and last but not least I thank Gloria Lotzer for loaning us her Christmas Tree and she and Ron Dupont help decorate it. And we thank Captain Will Abair who again took 20 members out on his boat for a sunset ride on Lake Disston.
This is also a time to tell you what we did this year: 5 exhibitions, 12 challenges, 1 assignment, 2 workshops (with Patrick van Dusen and Gary Shaver), 20 Feedback Friday sessions and 10 field trips. Our last field trip of this year will take place on Tuesday, December 27.
As I said in my previous post, I took my bicycle pump and tried to inflate the deflated CCC balloon, and I think it’s working – we were invited back to have an exhibit in the Community Spotlight Gallery of the Southeast Museum of Photography and with only 11 museums in the States solely for photography how many people can say that they had an image hang in a museum of photography?
Of course, we are working on more exciting programs, workshops and field trips for 2023.
I wish everyone Happy Holidays and a healthy, happy and creative New Year,
till the next time,
Ans
