Time for a recap of the year 2019 – and what a year it has been. Wonderful speakers, exceptional exhibitions and the icing on the cake: an exhibit in the Nicole Stott Gallery in the Mori Hosseini Student Union Building on the Daytona Beach campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University! After the strike of this exhibit on January 16, 2020 I will post all images on the web site under the Galleries of 2019. The opening on December 2 was well visited and our members mingled with students in the Starbucks Café.
The next day was the day of the presentation. There is a huge screen in the Capt. Willie Miller Instructional Center Auditorium and only 8 members took the opportunity the see their images on this enormous screen. Very disappointing. The Director of Communications, James Roddey, however will not let the presentation go to waste – he promised to put it as a video on the YouTube channel of Embry-Riddle.
We found out that James is a very good photographer in his own right and he told me that he started out as a professional photographer on the West Coast. It is an honor to have an exhibit in this Gallery and we thank Mr. James Roddey for making this possible. All three field trips are in the event section of the web site.
And then on Wednesday, December 11 we had our yearly Holiday Party and the Casements Gallery was filled to the max. The slideshow of many 2019 images consisted of 538 images and I had a hard time to get them in order.
