Start writing… Therein lays always the problem. What if you don’t know what to write about?
At the moment I am knee-deep in mounting and matting for the December exhibition that will take place in the Nicole Stott Gallery in the Mori Hosseini Student Union Building. We decided that all works will be in a 20″x24″ black frame with the same color mat board – that means someone has to do the work. Of course I had a quote from Southern Paint to do it for us, but that was double the prize.
Luckily nobody complained and last Monday I got the bulk of the images. At the moment I have to mount and mat 6 more images… In the end we will have at least 41 images, which is a huge success and I am so proud of our members. The exhibit will be sooo diverse. In a meeting with the Director of Communications of Embry-Riddle, James Roddey we picked the images for the exhibit and we decided that these images will not be incorporated in the slideshow presentation on the next day (December 3, 2019 at 5.30pm).
However we will show James’ Top 10 of the exhibited images! So exciting…
We will also have students of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University show their images. I can’t wait to meet them and ask someone to present Drone Photography to us!
Last Thursday we saw them work in the Willie Miller Instructional Center Auditorium (seating for 350!) at a wonderful concert of Julie Fowlis, the wonderful Scottish singer who had a huge hit with the song: Touch the Sky from the movie Brave. It is great that Embry-Riddle puts on these kinds of presentations free to the public!
The thought that I have to give a presentation in this Auditorium is scary, but I am so proud to present the Casements Camera Club in these surroundings!
In one of the next blogs I will report back,
till then,
