The board of the Casements Camera Club met on April 16 to discuss the events of the past and the coming months.
One of the changes we made is that we will charge a fee for both images in the upcoming 7th Annual Spring Exhibit. The registration for this exhibit is on Friday, May 31.
The August meeting will be a Q&A meeting. We will discuss the future of the Casements Camera Club and will answer any questions. Please e-mail me questions beforehand. We are working on a Creative Workshop to be held somewhere in October. Splash, droplets, Suzanne Saroff like images (see http://hisuzanne.com), and two or three other creative opportunities will be explored in 5 or 6 stations so that everyone can get a turn at each of the stations. Please inform me if you’re interested
Tonight on American Masters on PBS there is a documentary about Street Photographer Garry Winogrand – certainly worth watching.
In order to get ideas for our club I watch a lot of YouTube videos. Of course there are too many to mention, but Sean Tucker put together a list – so here goes: Aputure (education about lighting), Moment, Ben Hartley, f64 Academy by Blade Rudis, Fuel Your Photor by Corey Potter, Mango Street, Peter McKinnon, Phillip & Eileen Blume, Photofocus, Photography Network PAC, PhotoJoseph (with live shows), Tamara Lackey (people photography), The Art of Photography and Scott Wyden Kivowitz, Brian Matiash, Matt Kloskowski, The SnapChick. My personal favorite is The Bite Shot, where Joanie Simon discusses her food photography. Just in case you don’t know what to do on a rainy day.
Till next time,
